Los Angeles at San Antonio

What once upon a time would have been a classic high-level matchup between a pair of elite NBA teams, is no longer the case. San Antonio is 30-8 on the season and continues to roll on, but the Lakers have fallen back considerably at just 15-27. The Spurs saw a nine-game home winning streak come to an end their last time out. Sometimes a team playing intensely for a long streak tend to let up a bit in their next game, especially when they view it an easy win. The Lakers have sprung road surprises against Atlanta and Chicago, and while I don't think they have a surprise in store here, I do think they are better tonight than the lofty number. Play the generous points and take the Lakers.
