Los Angeles has been a great home team for first-year coach Mike Brown, but a very different team on the road with a losing record (15-19). Denver won Game 3, 99-84, as they went up-tempo and led 55-39 at halftime. They also played great defense, holding the Lakers to 37% shooting. The Lakers are 8-17 ATS in their last 25 against the Western Conference and are on an 8-18 ATS run overall. The Lakers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games and a miserable 4-14 ATS in their last 18 games playing on one day of rest. Denver hustles hard in front of the home fans and was terrific on the offensive glass. Denver had 19 offensive rebounds, Los Angeles 13. And the Nuggets, thanks to six offensive boards from both JaVale McGee and Kenneth Faried, had 17 second-chance points that allowed them to build a big early lead they never lost. The Nuggets are 4-0 ATS in their last four games as a favorite and are on a 6-1 ATS run. Plus, the Nuggets are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 playoffs games as a favorite. The Lakers are 4-9-1 ATS in the last 14 meetings and 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings in Denver. Play the Denver Nuggets in Game 4. Just like Game 3, look for less scoring than the oddsmakers think. LA's defense held the Nuggets to 39% shooting in Game 3, while LA shot just 37%. The UNDER is 22-6 in the Lakers’ last 28 against a team with a winning record and 5-2 UNDER the total in their last 7seven playoffs games as an underdog. Age and the altitude are a concern for the Lakers and they won't want to run with up-tempo young Denver. The UNDER is 21-7 in the Nuggets’ last 28 vs. a team with a winning record, 10-3 UNDER the total as a favorite and a sizzling 19-7 UNDER the total in the Nuggets’ last 26 against the NBA Pacific Division. When these teams meet the UNDER is 21-6, including 4-0 UNDER the total in the last four meetings in Denver. Play the UNDER.
