Charlotte played yesterday, but you wouldn't know it from the boxscore getting toasted at Detroit. Down 30-10 in the first, they got to go with the kids and the bench players, so this is not your usual back-to-back situation for the home team. Charlotte is one of the best defensive teams in the NBA at eighth in points allowed and ninth in field goal shooting defense. Noah Vonleh, the ninth overall pick in last June’s draft, has gotten the most benefit with 21 or more minutes in each of the last three games. The power forward broke out in Sunday’s 116-77 loss at Detroit with season highs of 16 points and 12 rebounds in 29 minutes. Guard Troy Daniels is trying to make an impression as well. The Hornets are 8-2 ATS at home against a team with a road winning percentage of greater than .600. Houston is in town also having played yesterday, but a much tougher game with New Orleans (it was tied in the fourth). The starters and three players off the bench played a lot of minutes. When these teams clash the home team is 8-2-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings. Play the Charlotte Hornets.
