Detroit at Miami

The Pistons took down the NBA championship last year with ferocious defense. Judging by second season performance this year that has seen Pistons hold both 76ers and Nets under 93 points in all but one contest then stump the high scoring Heat 90-81 on it's own hardwood, I expect more of the same from here on out. I expect 'D' and more 'D' from Pistons when they hit the floor Wednesday. On the other side, the Heat are also 20-1 UNDER in their last twenty-one when holding under the century mark, 11-4 UNDER their last fifteen in front of the home crowd, and 10-2-1 UNDER in their last thirteen hosting an Eastern team. The Pistons are 12-3 UNDER their last fifteen allowing opponents less than 100 points. Games involving two teams with good defenses (41.5-43.5%) and solid rebounding (+3 to +5.5 reb/game) have gone UNDER the total almost 3 out of 4 times since 1996 (54-20). This makes sense as both teams make it difficult for the other team to hit shots and they minimize easy offensive rebounds. This one goes under. Two stars.
