Indiana finished last season strong. They sneaked into the playoffs and gave the No. 1 seed Chicago Bulls all they could handle in the first round. This season hopes are high for the Pacers. Last season Detroit suffered a mess of a season, their third straight under .500. They had major problems with head coach John Kuester who is now gone. Detroit has a long way to go and I like where Indiana is headed behind David West, Danny Granger and Roy Hibbert. And, Tyler Hansbrough should have a bigger positive impact this season. The last three seasons the Pacers are 22-10 ATS as a favorite of 3.5 to 9.5 points, and favorites in this range do well in game one. Meanwhile, Detroit dropped seven of their final nine last season ATS on the road. Take the Pacers and lay the points.
