Cleveland at Brooklyn

The teams split four meetings last season and Brooklyn will have a decidedly new look with no more superstars like Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving, but the Nets can boast a lot of younger talent, including Mikal Bridges, who averaged 26.1 points in 27 games after he was acquired by the Nets. Cam Johnson scored 16.6 points per game for the Nets and coach Jacque Vaughn now will have time to set up new schemes for Bridges and Johnson unlike last season. Spencer Dinwiddie is a solid point guard and averaged 9.1 assists for Brooklyn. Cleveland comes off a disappointing playoff loss as it lost to New York in five games in the first round. The Knicks won the last three games with a 75-46 edge in offensive rebounds. Cleveland hopes to improve offensively by signing some good shooters in Max Strus, Georges Niang and Ty Jerome. The Cavaliers were just 20-21 on the road in 2022-23 and Brooklyn has a motivated young squad for its home opener. Take the Nets on the moneyline.
