They have been huge on defense, allowing just over 89 points per game, carrying a solid double-digit margin of victory in the 29 games. Remember that Brooklyn was beaten badly here, but it could have been worse as Deron Williams hit a pair of long 3-pointers as time expired at the end of two periods. Take away those fortunate desperation heaves and the margin would have been 6 points worse, and the Nets' output reduced to just 80. If the Nets learned one thing, it is that they need to match the defensive intensity of the Heat in this game, or they will be buried for a second straight time.
