The Celtics can feel comfortable as they locked up Rajon Rondo in a long-term deal. They have also opened the season strong at 4-0, but will be challenged by an improved Sixers team with a healthy Elton Brand back in the lineup. Their starting five has no holes as all five starters are averaging 13.7 points per game or more. The Sixers’ growing confidence has seen them go 7-1 ATS after a straight-up win by 10 or more points, and this role for the Celtics is one of their worst as they are 4-10 ATS as a favorite of 5-10.5. Teams that start off the season with at least three wins and tabbed as a road favorite have been just 16-23 ATS since 1990. I like the Sixers to at least keep this one within striking distance, and will back them here.
