The Boston Celtics surprised the Orlando Magic in game one in Orlando after the Magic had won eight straight playoffs games by an average of 16.7 points per game. One game does not a series make, and evidently the oddsmakers agree as they have actually made Orlando a bigger favorite in game two. Go back to last year when the Magic stole game one in Boston, and were quickly blown off the floor in game two by a 112-94 count. I would not be shocked if the Magic turn the tables in game two here and lay an equal punishment on Boston. All you have seen on TV and heard on the radio now is how Boston really is this good - that they are now the favorite to win this series. My how quickly the talking heads have turned on the Magic. It is all-of-a-sudden forgotten that this team has gone 12-1 in their last 13 games. As a result of the chatter, and the results of game one, the public is all over Boston, which usually means the value is on the other side. I expect the Magic to come out on a mission tonight. They have been outstanding following a straight-up loss as they are 66-32-2 ATS in their last 100 following a loss, and now stand at 22-6 ATS in their last 28 vs. the Eastern Conference. The Magic turns to defense when the games begin to get important, and are 26-9 to the UNDER after a straight-up loss and 38-12-1 to the UNDER after an ATS loss. Boston is now 8-2 to the UNDER in their last 10 Conference Finals, and eight of the last nine between these clubs have failed to reach the total. I’m on Orlando and UNDER here.
