Miami Heat vs Orlando Magic

Miami endured an early exit in last season's playoffs, but key injuries were a major factor as Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier both were out and Duncan Robinson played through a back issue. The Heat are healthy now and ready to bounce back from a subpar season and contend in the Eastern Conference. Orlando improved by 13 games in 2023-24 and expect to get better this season with a young and talented club featuring forwards Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. However, the Magic have lost seven of the past 10 meetings overall and the past nine road games against the Heat. Orlando also finished last season losing eight consecutive road contests. Miami has covered four of the past five meetings and it is 13-3 straight up against the Southeast Division. Miami is just a slight favorite in this matchup and basically just has to win the game to get the money. Take the Heat.

Miami has won two of the three meetings this season although it looks to avenge a 105-87 loss to the Magic on Jan. 21 when the Heat shot just 38 percent. The Heat snapped a seven-game losing streak by winning two games against Sacramento and Washington before falling to the Los Angeles Clippers 103-95 on Sunday. Miami has the scheduling advantage in tonight's matchup as Orlando is playing its fifth consecutive road game in a nine-day span. The Magic are 12-16 straight up on the road and they are just a small underdog in this game. Miami is 5-1 ATS as a home favorite of 0.5-4.5 points and it has held its last three opponents to only 103.7 points per game. The Heat are #7 in the NBA defensively allowing 111.2 points. Orlando has hit a rough spot in the schedule and had to play seven road games in nine games and then come home to face Philadelphia on Friday night. The 76ers won 124-109 and now the Magic play Miami, which comes off a tough 109-108 loss to Atlanta on Friday night when Dejounte Murray hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with two seconds left. Orlando had a much-needed day off yesterday and it is 9-3-1 ATS as a home underdog and 18-7-1 ATS overall its past 26 Sunday games. The Magic are 14-6-1 ATS as underdogs of 0.5-4.5 points and the Heat are 1-4-1 ATS their past six road games. Miami has gone UNDER five games in a row and Orlando is 6-1 UNDER its past seven games.
