38-year old Diego Sanchez is 7-7 in his last 14 UFC bouts, one of the oldest fighters in the UFC. He is fighting for the second time in 2020 and the fourth time in the last two years. Age has already caught up to him, getting badly outhit in his last two battles, losing on significant strikes by a combined 100-32. On offense, his striking accuracy is poor (38%), so he will try and take this to the mat. His defense is not strong, absorbing 2.95 significant strikes per minute with a 56 percent defensive accuracy rate. All of that will be a problem versus young Jake Matthews, who has won two in a row while on a 5-1 UFC run. He can grapple, with six of his last seven fights (five wins) going the distance, and he can punch, landing 2.98 significant strikes. Also, his defense is outstanding with a 68% takedown defense and 62% striking 'D.' He comes off a victory over Emil Meek in February, and two bouts ago, he outstruck Rostem Akman by 44. Matthews is the better puncher, better defender, has a three-inch reach edge, and is 12 years younger. Combine Jake Matthews moneyline (-705) and the Jake Matthews vs. Diego Sanchez OVER 1.5 (-220) into a 2-team parlay at -151 odds.
