Washington at St. Louis

The St. Louis Cardinals remain two games behind the Pirates and the Reds in the NL Central, and Washington's playoffs hopes ended last night with a loss. It would be only fitting that they impede the goal of the Cardinals to win the NL Central, since they were the team that eliminated them. Gio Gonzalez has had a good season, and his only appearance in his career against the Cards resulted in a shutout, less than a month ago. Michael Wacha did not make it out of the fifth inning in his last start where he was rocked for 4 runs and 12 hits. The Nationals are 14-2 behind Gonzalez vs. the NL Central, and have won six straight times when following a setback in their previous game. The Cards are just 1-4 in Wacha's last five starts. Take Washington in this one.
