The Washington Nationals were not thought of as being a contender this season, but here we are in the midst of the dog days of August and the Nats have the best record in baseball. One of the key factors has been their pitching and Gio Gonzalez is a big part of that. Gonzlez has a 14-6 record on the season and the Nats are 11-2 in his 13 road starts, best for any starter in baseball this season. Ryan Vogelsong has been a pretty good option as well for San Francisco, but the Nats, once road kill, are now 49-23 in their last 72 on the road and that includes 35-17 in the series lid lifter. The Giants have been failing at home of late at 3-8 in their last 11 and are just 1-4 in their last five vs. a team over .600. The Nats have duplicted those numbers at 4-1 in their last five vs. San Francisco. Play on Washington.
