The San Diego Padres got off to a miserable start, but have shown to be a better team than their overall record as they have gone 13-8 over their last 21. They played competitively last night, forcing extra innings with a 2-run ninth, but were denied in a 3-2 loss. Jordan Zimmermann has pitched better than anyone in the NL to this point, but he is not invincible. We saw last night that the Nationals' bullpen can be had. San Diego has been magical behind Stults where they are 15-7 in his 22 starts for them. Zimmermann may be getting the results so far, but the Nats are just 1-4 when he starts to a total of 6.5 or less. The Padres own a 9-2 record when Stults gets the ball vs. a winning team. Play on San Diego.
