The Washington Nationals were excited that this would be their season to shine, but it has fallen well short of expectations. As a result, a visit to the postseason is not in the cards. They have had trouble swinging the bats all season, and although Stephen Strasburg has pitched admirably, he is just 6-9 because of the lack of offense. The Nats have plated 2 or fewer runs in 15 of his starts. Cole Hamels is just 6-13, for similar reasons, but he has not lost in his last six starts. Right now Philadelphia is playing better and scoring with more consistency. Philadelphia has been the best team in baseball off a long road trip of seven days or more at an impressive 41-14 in their last 55. Back Philadelphia.
