Washington at New York

The New York Mets are going to go as far as their pitching will take them. They have a very suspect lineup that has limited capacity to produce runs. Matt Harvey has pitched well, but his last four turns have been a lot less impactful than they were earlier in the season. Harvey has struck out a total of seven batters in his last two games, and his 9-7 record is indicative of the lack of support. Gio Gonzalez got off to a poor start, but over his last five he has been terrific, allowing five earned runs in the five games. While it appears the Mets have the edge on the mound here, it simply is not the case. Taking it a step further, when Gonzalez has had an extra day of rest the Nats own a 28-9 record in his last 37.
