The New York Mets are a long shot to reach the playoffs, but still have hopes of going on a run and sneaking in. They have long languished at home, and have not taken advantage. However, a lot of that has changed recently, as a 12-7 stretch here has lifted them over .500 on the season at home. Rafael Montero seems to have worked some things out at AAA Las Vegas where he was 6-3 with a 3.28 ERA. The Nationals have had a tough time getting things going to open a series, losing five straight series lid lifters. The Mets' new attitude and elevated play at home has seen them return from a seven day or longer road trip to win four straight.
