The Nationals almost stole one against the Mets yesterday facing their top two pitchers in Santana and closer Rodriguez, but fell short at 3-2. The Mets go with Mike Pelphrey today who has been a huge disappointment. Pelphrey went from 72 innings in '07 to over 200 in '08. There has been historic proof that is not conducive to good results the following year. Pelphrey has been whacked around to an 8.10 ERA and has walked six in 10 innings. Daniel Cabrera has always had plus stuff and is capable of a gem if he is locating. He has allowed fewer hits than innings pitched over his big league career. I like the value here on the Nats and will go with the big dog in this one.
