The Washington Nationals have had a disappointing season, as they were considered a lock for the playoffs, but are going to fall short. That hasn't stopped them from playing well down the stretch, as they are 11-4 in their last 15 games. They swept the Marlins in a three-game series at home at the end of August, and have won 9 of the 12 meetings this season. Jose Fernandez has been great this season, but the Marlins often struggle to produce runs against anyone, so the Nationals are likely to be around late in this one. That should give the Nats the edge, as they are 6-1 in their last seven to a total of 6.5 or less. The Marlins are just 30-65 when following a loss in their last 95 games, and have had trouble putting one in the win column against right-handed pitching where they are 3-13 in their last 16. Go with Washington.
