Washington heads out on the road losing two of the last three as chalk of -140 and -125. The Nationals have lost four of the last six when Gio Gonzalez takes the mound. He has a 2.02 ERA at home, but that shoots to 3.50 on the road where he has allowed nine of his 16 homers. That's consistent with the previous three years where he has a losing road record and a 4.17 ERA. In five games at Marlins Park, Gonzalez is just 2-2 with a 4.15 ERA, and the team is 8-16 when he starts as a favorite of -125 to -175. This is not a good situational spot for Washington, splitting a doubleheader with the visiting Colorado Rockies on Sunday, putting a strain on their already weak bullpen for this one. Miami has won seven of 10, and right fielder Giancarlo Stanton leads the National League with 33 homers. Stanton and Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto were held out of the starting lineup Sunday in an effort to rest them, two of their best offensive players. Marlins' righty Jose Urena (9-4) is 8-2 in his last 10 decisions and had a 1.80 ERA in three appearances against Washington last year. Finally, playing against road NL squads with a team batting average of .275, bettors are 148-80, so back the home dog. Play Miami.
