The Red Sox have been the kings of interleague play since it started. Despite taking the loss last night, they were facing one of the up-and-coming premier pitchers in the game in Stephen Strasburg. They managed to score 2 runs and added 2 more against the Nationals’ pen. Today they face a pitcher they have a lot of familiarity with in Gio Gonzalez. Boston has done a great job against him as Gonzalez sports a 5.79 ERA against Boston in five career starts. The Nats have been brutal in interleague play vs. right-hand pitching, posting a 6-20 mark in their last 26 against them. The Red Sox’s good teams, and unusual park has led them to a dominating 51-18 mark at home in interleague contests. Play on Boston.
