Washington at Atlanta

There is nothing left to play for as the Braves have long clinched the NL East. They have also clinched the best record in the NL. That renders this game totally meaningless. The line may be fair under different circumstances, but I question the motivation that Atlanta will bring to this game, which calls into question posting them as a better than 3/1 favorite. The Braves sure didn't seem to bring much to the opening game of this series that Washington won 10-6, and the Nationals are actually 3-3 in the last six meetings. The Braves gave up 10 or more runs just six times prior to September, and have allowed 10 or more runs five times in September, which indicates this team has been coasting late in the season. Make the play on Washington.
