Atlanta goes for its fifth straight win after defeating the Nationals 5-2 on Tuesday when Travis d'Arnaud broke a scoreless tie with a two-run homer in the fourth inning for the Braves, who are one game behind the first-place Mets in the NL East. Bryce Elder will make a spot start for the Braves and he allowed no runs on two hits in six innings his last outing on Sept. 3 against Miami. Paolo Espino is 0-7 with a 4.24 ERA for Washington and this will be a bullpen game for the Nationals with Espino pitching maybe one or two innings. Atlanta has won nine of the past 10 meetings and the Nationals are 15-42 versus teams with winning records. Atlanta has won 40 of its past 52 home games. Take the Braves.
