Atlanta is scoring runs, fourth in baseball in runs scored and tenth in on-base percentage. The Braves are riding a six game skid but there's nothing wrong with their offense. They got four runs and six hits in six innings against Nationals phenom Stephen Strasburg yesterday before the pitching let them down. The pitching will be fine today with Brandon Beachy (5-2, 1.77 ERA) going. He's allowed just 40 hits in 61 innings and only 15 walks with 44 Ks. The Braves are 18-8 in their last 26 when their opponent scores five runs or more in their previous game and 7-0 in their last seven against a team with a winning percentage above .600. Atlanta is also 6-2 in Beachy's last eight starts. Washington looks for the sweep but ranks 24th in runs scored. Meanwhile starter Gio Gonzalez has been great at home with a 1.82 ERA, but on the road his ERA is 2.70 walking 17 batters in 26 innings along with 20 hits allowed. That's a lot of base runners! The Braves make him pay. Play the Braves.
