John Smoltz will take the mound within four strikeouts of reaching his 3,000th for his career. So Atlanta will be buzzing tonight. Smoltz has been dead on in his three starts, with a microscopic 0.56 ERA, 21 K's in 16 innings, and only 10 hits allowed. The Braves have outscored the opponent 21-3 in those three starts. The Braves are 42-19 to the -1.5 runline in the last 61 games they have won with Smoltz on the hill, and 18-6 at home in his last 24 wins. The Nats have just one win in the last seven starts made by John Lannan. The Nats after starting 3-0, have been just 2-15 since, losing by 2+ runs in nine of their last 12 losses. We like the Braves to once again feast on the Nats in this one.
