Toronto at Tampa Bay

Toronto will try to even the series after winning 8-2 on Opening Day and then losing the next two. Kevin Gausman will get the start for the Blue Jays after getting a late start to spring training due to some shoulder soreness, but he felt good the last couple days. Gausman led the American league with 237 strikeouts last season and came in third in Cy Young Award voting and Tampa Bay hitters are batting less than .200 against him. Shawn Armstrong will start for the Rays in what will be a bullpen game as he has started only nine games in his 10-year MLB career. Armstrong appeared in Thursday's game and allowed two runs in 1 1/3 innings. Gausman has a career 3.66 ERA against the Rays and he was 7-5 with a 3.27 ERA on the road in 2023.
