The Mariners have now won seven in a row, have played lights out at home and are an underdog at home? There is one reason. Jeff Weaver and his near eight ERA. Things are not as they seem. Weaver entered June with a 14.32 ERA and looked completely clueless. He has delivered since and has become a very serviceable pitcher. His last four starts he has pitched to a 2.62 ERA, and the Mariners have won three of them. Seattle is hitting .292 over the last week, and the pitching has been flawless at 2.42, with five members of the pen allowing zero runs through 16 innings of relief. Shaun Marcum has pitched great since becoming a starter, but the Jays have lost his last two starts, and winning on the road hasn't come easy for the Jays who are now 15-23, and winning against RHP not easy either, as they are a mediocre 25-32. Marcum has better numbers than Weaver, but not lately, the Mariners are the better team and on fire, M’s get the sweep.
