After a disappointing slow start, the San Diego Padres have played very well for over a month now. They are 19-14 over their last 33 games. One reason is that starting pitcher Jason Marquis is 6-2 on the season, and has won each of his last five starts. Toronto has played better of late, but it's still hard to ignore the road woes of this team that show them a vulnerable 18-37 on the road in their last 55. That also translates to 9-23 in their last 32 as a road dog. The Padres have done an excellent job in winning the games they are supposed to win and come in at 35-17 in their last 52 as a favorite, including 20-7 at home. The Padres are also getting it done as an interleague home favorite, where they are 6-1 in their last seven. Go with San Diego.
