Toronto at New York

The New York Yankees were rolling towards the playoffs not all that long ago, as they rattled off 13 straight wins. Regression to the mean certainly was in order. Perhaps not to the extent it has occurred, however. The Yankees are 2-9 since their long winning streak and need to win tonight to keep from being swept by the Jays at home. I think the sense of urgency is there and the Yankees certainly are not a team that gets swept at home in a four-game series very often. The Blue Jays are facing some regression of their own as they have now won 10 of their last 11 to quietly sneak back in the wild card race. I think the line is now tainted by the recent slide by the Yanks and hot stretch by the Jays. I will back the New York Yankees in this one.
