New York will try once again to hold off a Blue Jays team making a late run at the playoffs. The Yankees will start Luis Gil, and he hasn't allowed a run in 15 2/3 innings (three starts), but Gil left the rotation when Corey Kluber returned. Now the Yanks are desperate for some wins after losing four in a row and realize Gil should have been pitching all along. Alek Manoah gave up six runs in five innings his last start against Oakland and he's 2-2 with a 4.28 ERA on the road compared to 3-0 and 2.97 at home. New York has won eight of 10 in the third game of a series, and 23 of 32 versus right-handed starters. Also, the Yankees have bounced back to win 10 of 14 after allowing at least five runs in their previous game, going 7-3 after scoring two or fewer runs. Play the Yankees.
