The Royals have been imitating their 2015 World Series Championship team by winning 10 of their last 12 topped by a tremendous ninth-inning comeback on Friday night. Whit Merrifield hit a two-out, walk-off double and Kansas City scored four runs to win 5-4. Now they have their best starter on the mound in today's matchup as Jason Vargas is 10-3 with a 2.27 ERA and the Royals have won his last five starts. Also, Vargas is 5-1 and a .227 opponent batting average at home this season. Marco Estrada has been hit hard his last four starts and Toronto has been outscored 30-11 in those games. Estrada has given up 23 runs in his last 16 1/3 innings and the only reason he escaped a loss on Monday was because the Blue Jays rallied in the ninth inning. Kansas City has won seven of the last eight meetings at home and it is 16-5 in Vargas' last 21 home starts dating to last season. Take the Royals.
