Detroit keeps losing starting pitchers to injuries and Tommy John surgeries while averaging only 2.85 runs a game and the Tigers lost again 10-1 on Friday night. George Springer homered and scored three runs along with two RBIs and Toronto improved to 34-24 and averaging 4.62 runs per game. Kevin Gausman will start today's game and he owns a 2.78 ERA and 1.16 WHIP overall and he has a 1.91 ERA on the road while allowing only seven earned runs in 33 innings. Beau Briske goes for the Tigers and he has yet to win a decision in eight appearances although Detroit's anemic offense has been a major factor. Briske has allowed nine earned runs in 16 2/3 innings at home. Toronto has won eight of its past nine road games and 10 of 12 overall versus right-handed starters.
