The Red Sox remained 3 1/2 games in first place in the AL East and improved to 33-13 at home. Toronto is 6-22 its last 28 games versus left-handed starters and it has lost five of its last seven overall. Brian Johnson expects to go four or five innings for the Red Sox as he makes his fourth start of the season. Boston has won his last two as he allowed three runs in 8 2/3 innings.
