Texas at Seattle

The Texas Rangers have been the biggest surprise in the AL this season. They have overcome numerous injuries to their pitching staff, and a very poor start, to be in the hunt for a playoff spot. One healed Rangers starter, who will take the ball tonight, is Derek Holland. Holland is 3-1 with a 2.37 ERA, but better than that, he has been a freight train in dominating the Mariners over his career. Holland owns a 10-2 record vs. the M's backed by a 2.94 ERA. The Mariners opened the season at 9-1 in Felix Hernandez' first 10 starts, where he looked every bit the part of a Cy Young Award candidate. The M's were outscoring opponents 3.8 to 2.3 in those 10 games. How things have changed. Since June 1st, the M's have been outscored by their opponents 3.9 to 5.2 with King Felix on the mound, and own a losing record. Take the surging Rangers.
