They have been winning without slugger Nelson Cruz, who is healthy now and will be back to play in this series. Mariners lefty Roenis Elias is 2-1 with a 2.42 ERA in four career starts against Texas. The Mariners are 13-3 against a right-handed starter and face Rangers righty Yovani Gallardo, who has a losing road record. Gallardo took a no decision Tuesday against the Padres as he allowed four runs on six hits and a walk over five innings. The Rangers are 3-7 as a road favorite, plus 1-4 when Gallardo starts Game 1 of a series. The Rangers are 3-8 in the last 11 meetings, including 1-4 at Safeco Park, so grab the hot home team.
