Oakland won 10-5 on Friday night while banging out 16 hits and it snapped a four-game win streak for Texas. It was the third straight victory for the Athletics, who are one game behind in the wild-card race. Cole Irvin starts today and he is looking to rebound from a terrible outing at Toronto on Sunday, but overall he owns a 3.93 ERA on the season. His counterpart, Koby Allard of the Rangers is 3-12 with a 5.00 ERA overall and 1-5 and 5.36 on the road and since July he has allowed 42 earned runs in 59 2/3 innings. Allard has given up 14 runs on 24 hits in 24 1/3 innings against Oakland this season. The Athletics have won seven of the past nine meetings and the Rangers are 0-12 in Allard's last 12 starts after scoring at least five runs their previous game.
