Texas at Oakland

Martin Perez will make his season debut tonight for the Rangers, and a lot is expected from him this season. The biggest issue here is he last pitched in September, but was shutdown, and worked just 10 innings this spring after surgery on his non-pitching elbow. He was rather ineffective in his return, allowing five runs. Perez will probably be limited to a short outing as he continues to build arm strength, and the Rangers' bullpen is highly suspect. Perez owns a 5.27 ERA vs. the A's. Oakland will counter with right-hander Daniel Mengden (0-1, 7.94 ERA), but his first outing was horrible, and his confidence has to be questioned. This one looks like runs a plenty tonight, so make the play on the OVER.
