What the Angels had hoped for is staying in reach of the Rangers, so this series meant something. Disappointingly, they have not played well down the stretch and have fallen out of the race. The Rangers had a lot to do with that by handling this Angels squad in the last two series, winning five of the last seven. Dan Haren has not pitched up to standard late in the season, as his innings have mounted. After a lot of injuries, he is in uncharted waters. C.J. Wilson has really found the groove down the stretch as he has allowed 2 runs or less in nine of his last 10 starts, and he has dominated the AL West where the Rangers are 20-8 in his last 28 division starts. That includes 6-2 in his last eight starts vs. the Halos. I'm riding with Texas in this one.
