The Los Angeles Angels opened with a season of high expectations with the signing of Albert Pujols. Pujols struggled for a month and a half, and the Angels have had to scratch and claw all season long. It has still left them three games on the outside looking in on the wildcard picture, and the sand is about to run out of the hour glass soon. Jered Weaver has been their man for most of the season, but what was once seemingly automatic, has turned to pedestrian over his last six starts with the Angels at 3-3. Ryan Dempster was acquired by the Rangers to bolster the staff, but in two of his first three starts he allowed 8 runs each. That has changed dramatically with Dempster allowing 2 runs or less in all of his other six starts. The Rangers are the kings of series openers at 55-24 in their last 79. The Angels are also struggling at home vs. winning teams at 2-7 in their last nine. Texas gets the call.
