Texas at Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Angels had figured to be in the race over the past few seasons, but never seemed to achieve expectations. Some of those expectations were relaxed this season, and now the Angels appear to be ready to contend. They certainly have found success against the Texas Rangers as they are 21-8 against them in the last 29 meetings, including 7-3 this year, despite last night's loss. Yovani Gallardo has had a decent season, but has lost three straight and did not make it to the fifth inning his last time out. Hector Santiago is one of the reasons behind the Halos' success this season as he has pitched to a slender 2.30 ERA on the season. The Rangers have lacked success in the divison at 2-10 in their last 12, and the Angels continue to stuff the win column against losing teams at 43-19 in their last 62 against them.
