The Detroit Tigers increased their win total last year by 12, and have gotten off to a good start at 9-7. This is a young team and the rebuilding process is starting to show. Mize has won both of his starts for the Tigers to open the 2024 season, and opponents scored just three runs in each of his first two outings. The Rangers are struggling out of the gate at 9-8, and will turn to Jon Gray this afternoon. Gray was an 18-game winner in 2018, but has not been the same pitcher since, and the Rangers are 1-2 in his first three starts in 2024.
