Texas at Detroit

Michael Lorenzen will face Detroit, which traded him to Philadelphia last year and he promptly pitched a no-hitter for the Phillies. Now he will make his first appearance with Texas after finishing 9-9 with a 1.21 WHIP in 2023. Reese Olson will start for the Tigers and he faced the Rangers once and finished with a 5.39 ERA and 2.40 WHIP against them. Olson got hit hard by Pittsburgh last Monday and gave up six runs on nine hits in only 4 1/3 innings. Detroit has lost six of nine and Texas is experiencing a World Series hangover as it is 2-6 its past eight games. However, the Rangers have the clear edge offensively as they score 5.38 runs per game compared to 3.73 for the Tigers, who are hitting only .217 as a team. Texas has won 14 of 17 road games dating to last season and Detroit is 0-4 when Olson starts on six days of rest. Take the Rangers as a Max Play.
