The Seattle Mariners lost 101 games last year, but it is pretty obvious they won't lose 100 this year. In fact, they are above .500 and trailing the Texas Rangers by just a game and a half in the AL West. Andy Sonnanstine used to be a fixture in the Rays’ rotation, and now he is shuttled back and forth from the pen to the rotation, and the results have not been good. Sonnanstine has made 10 appearances for the Rays this year, and in only one game did it result in a Tampa Bay win, but 0-3 as a starter. The Rays have been just 17-26 in his last 43 starts, despite having an above .500 record as a team during the 43-start sequence. It gets uglier than that as the Rays have taken the big donut in Sonnenstine's last nine road starts vs. a winning team, at 0-9. The Mariners are a hot 12-3 in their last 15 games, and 13-3 at home vs. a right-hander. Take Seattle for the money.
