Tampa Bay at Minnesota

Tampa Bay bounced back from a 20-8 loss on Wednesday with an 8-1 win over the Red Sox as Wander Franco hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the sixth inning, and Mike Zunino added a three-run shot in the eighth. The Rays moved five games ahead of Boston in first place in the AL East and have won five of their past six games. Minnesota comes off two wins over the White Sox, but they are 17 1/2 games out of first and languishing near last place in the AL Central. Shane McClanahan goes for the Rays tonight, and they have won four of his past five starts, including 12-3 over Baltimore on Saturday when he allowed three runs on five hits in seven innings. Michael Pineda is 4-7 with a 3.83 ERA for the Twins, who have lost his last two starts. Tampa Bay is 42-14 following a win and 24-8 its past 32 games versus teams with losing records. Play the Rays.
