They have left the slump in the rearview mirror, and have played like the team we saw early in the season as they have reeled off 11 wins in 13 games. The Rays have played better, but against teams mired in a slump themselves, so this game will be quite challenging, especially facing Max Scherzer. Scherzer dominated in his last start in striking out 13, and the Tigers are an overpowering 44-14 in his last 58 starts as a favorite. The Rays enter at an ugly 35-93 in their last 128 as a dog from +151 to +200, and don't have the muscle to get a road win in this spot. Play on Detroit.
