Tampa Bay at Boston

Tampa Bay has won two straight with their strong pitching and defense to keep their faint playoff hopes alive. Boston is just 3-for-18 with runners in scoring position over the first two contests. The Rays are 37-18 during game four of a series and have a terrific arm going in Erasmo Ramirez (10-6, 3.70 ERA). He has allowed a total of two runs over 14 2/3 innings against strong offensive teams the Yankees and Orioles. The Rays are 5-2 when Ramirez starts following a quality start in his last appearance. He is 5-1 on the road this season and has a 1.29 ERA against Boston. Boston still has shaky defense in the field and a weak bullpen. Up-and-down Wade Miley goes and the Red Sox are 2-8 when Miley faces the AL East. Miley battled control problems in his last start on Saturday at Toronto, issuing five walks.
