While the Tampa Bay Rays won't be surprising anyone this season, they still are a very good team. James Shields gets the start for the Rays. Last year, he became the Rays ace and his best month of any was in April where he pitched to a 2.53 ERA. He will face Red Sox ace Josh Beckett, who is off a disappointing 12-10 campaign where he finished with a pedestrian 4.03 ERA and an even worse 5.65 ERA at Fenway Park. Beckett surrendered 87 hits in his 73 innings of work at Fenway last year, and was touched-up for 10 HRs and a .295 batting average against him. The Rays are the better team until proven otherwise, so I'll back them in this one.
