St. Louis at San Diego

The St. Louis Cardinals got hot last September, and carried it right through the playoffs and a World Series Championship. This year they are fighting to hold position as a wildcard team, are but playing poorly down the stretch. The Padres may have the smallest payroll in baseball, but they aren't playing like it at home where they have moved two games over the .500 mark. The Padres are poised to do some damage as they are 15-5 over their last 20 games and have won 9 of their last 11 at home. They have also secured 12 wins in their last 17 games when posted as an underdog. Adam Wainwright has not gotten it all back since arm surgery sidelined him for all of last season, and in his last five road starts the Cardinals are just 1-4.
