St. Louis at San Diego

The St. Louis Cardinals are off a successful nine-game home stand where they finished at 6-3. The team now heads to San Diego to open a series vs. the Padres. The Cardinals have been a lot more beatable on the road this season. They have played just 16 times on the road since June 26th, as they have lived on a lot of home cooking. St. Louis has been just 9-7 in those 16 road games. The Padres will send Andrew Cashner to the mound, and although he is 4-12 on the season, the 4.20 ERA says he has been a hard luck pitcher. In his only career start vs. St. Louis he worked six innings, allowing just three hits. The Cards have had little success behind Lackey, where they are 3-12 on the road in his last 15 road starts.
