St. Louis is 3-3 after defeating the Padres 5-2 last night featuring a two-run homer by Willson Contreras. The Cardinals have won five of the past seven meetings and Zack Thompson will start today as the Cardinals look to sweep the three-game series. Thompson had a rough outing against the Dodgers on Friday as he was touched for five runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings. However, Joe Musgrove already has been lit up for nine runs in 8 1/3 innings his first two starts this season for a current 9.72 ERA. Musgrove is 2-7 when starting against the Cardinals with a 5.22 ERA and 1.42 WHIP and his teams are 2-9 in those starts. Musgrove is 9-17 at home in day games. Take the Cardinals as a Max Play.
